About Us…..
What would later become COPELAND
SHOW HORSES began as a partnership to pay for a college education in the
summer of 1966. It has now blossomed into a family-owned venture to breed,
raise and show World Class halter horses.
Along the way, three children (Jennifer, Joe and Cody) were
introduced to the horse industry and were enrolled in the local 4-H chapter and
began raising 4-H livestock animals including yearling futurity projects (AQHA
fillies)….this evolved into showing AJQHA and TJQHA horses for Joe and Cody,
then on to AQHA Amateur and TAQHA for Cody.
Taking it on to the ultimate level, Cody Copeland now trains
and shows professionally in the Open division of the AQHA, PHBA and APHA. He
has enjoyed a working relationship with some of the best known trainers and
breeders in the business including James and Bill Huckabee, Ross Roark and Jim
Dunn, Dave Page, Roy and Malia Donn, Jason and Julie Smith, Karen Coleman, Todd
Grant and Ted Turner, to name a few.
Cody has participated in the fitting and preparation of such
horses as WINCREDIBLE,TOO COOL KID, CLUSIE, DROP THE DENIMS,COOL CHA CHA, LEGEND AT LAST, MR TURNBERRY,KIDS LITTLE SISTER, LAD LUCKY, REPRESENTATIVE AND STARSTRUCK CLU, as well as many
others.

Copeland also exhibit in the AQHA Amateur and TAQHA divisions. Susan has
enjoyed trips to Oklahoma City where she placed in the Top 10 AQHA Amateur halter division with KNOW THE CODE.

***COLONELFOURFRECKLE, sire of the great APHA/NHRA reining
sire COLONELS SMOKINGUN a.k.a. “GUNNER”
***BOLD JUDGEMENT, AAA race stallion who ran 10th in the All American Quarter
Horse Futurity
***BIG DADDY BONANZA, the hand picked replacement sire for
the great COY’S BONANZA (who appeared on the inside back cover of the QHJ for
years)
***MR SELECTIVE, Texas State Amateur Stallion in 1995, 10TH
place at the AQHA Amateur World Show
***MR SPECIAL IMPRESSION, sire of CORIE IMPRESSION. A great
show mare that was High-Point Open and
Amateur Halter mare for TQHA and won Year end, High-Point Open and Amateur
Halter mare in 1998 for the Big Country QH Assn, Heart O’ Texas QH Assn and Capital
Area QH Assn.
